A day to remember.

Memorial Day is a day to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. My cousin, an Army Veteran, shared this last Memorial Day and it really has stuck with me.

So enjoy your day, be thankful, but just take a minute to remember what today is really about.

On a happier note we’ve been having a wonderful, hot, weekend! Things got pretty crazy on Friday night.

After such a wild night we needed a nice relaxing day.

Sunday was jam packed with pool splashing

Being even more southern with some boiled peanut eating

And grilling out then randomly sitting in the middle of the yard with friends to eat dinner!

So far we have about 90% of our cleaning done and still had a lot of fun this weekend! I hope you had a great weekend, too!

Who has tried boiled peanuts? Is that only a southern thing?
What’s your favorite thing to grill?

  1. Never tried boiled peanuts, don’t think I’d like them though… Favorite thing to grill is probably steak but Juicy Lucys are a close second (burgers with cheese cooked into the middle of the meat instead of on top).

    • I never knew that was what that type of burger was called! When you boil them it completely changes the flavor of the peanut, come down south and give them a try. 🙂

    • Yeah!! These were cooked a too long for my preference, I’m a bit of a boiled peanut snob. 🙂
