At least I think we’re on Part 3, it’s all becoming a blur! Make sure to go check out all the previous posts on our trip. (here, here, here, here, AAAAAND here) This is going to be a lot of pictures and very few words because I’m about 8 hours late on getting this post thrown together and I know all you really care about it the pictures anyway. 🙂 The last three days of our trip was all about the W’s: Wine and Wedding. The morning of the wedding we packed a bag because we were staying at the wedding venue that night. The area where the wedding was is called the Winelands because there are literally hundreds of vineyards in the area. We decided to do a little wine tasting before we had to get ready for the wedding.
We did a tasting at two different vineyards, but the second one was my favorite. Not only because the wine was better but they gave Brice a truck to play with! We bought a bottle from this vineyard and are saving it for a special occasion. We’re not too sure what that occasion is yet!
Then it was time for the wedding!!! After we showered and changed clothes of course. How beautiful does my sister-in-law look??? We clean up nicely huh? Colin’s aunt absolutely adored Brice so she kept him entertained during the ceremony so that we could sit and enjoy it because Brice was getting antsy. Colin’s cousin took Brice for a ride on the tractor and he was not a fan!
The day after the wedding we had to go do a little shopping at some of the local markets. It’s so fun to look at all the handmade jewelry, instruments, and animal figurines. The boys really loved all the bargaining that you could do too! After we did our shopping we went and met up with the whole wedding party (Sis-in-law, bro-in-law, bridesmaids and groomsmen) to do a little more wine tasting and to eat lunch. How about this for a view? After lunch we parted ways and went to do a little more sightseeing. The last stop on our list was mine and Colin’s wedding venue. 🙂 It was SOOOO much fun to go back there and Kathryn took some amazing pictures for us. Unfortunately, I still haven’t figured out how to open her pictures on our computer.
We then went to meet some family for dinner for one last spectacular seafood dinner. This restaurant is where we had our rehearsal dinner so it was extra special to go back there. Our very last morning in South Africa, a dear friend of ours came and met us for breakfast. Colin and this guy grew up together and when we lived in South Africa we spent a lot of time with him so it was really, really nice to see him again. After breakfast we had to head to the airport to catch our first flight up to Johannesburg and then it was on to Atlanta.
We really weren’t sure if we were going to be able to fit in our seats with all of the stuff that we had bought. We had some breakable items that we had to keep with us to make sure they stayed safe.
Until next time Cape Town.
And sadly that is the end of our trip. It really was the trip of a lifetime and I’m looking forward to the next time that we will go. I have no idea when that will be, but when we do go, we’ll be sure to make it just as memorable!! Before you go you MUST head over to Kathryn’s blog and check out her post about our trip. I’ve been holding out on y’all because if you saw her amazing pictures you wouldn’t care to see the ones I had to post.
