Brett 4 months + Brice 2.75 years

Since having kids, so many people tell us ‘they grow up so fast!’, and they are SOOO right.  With two little ones in the house it’s as if they are growing right before our eyes!  Colin and I were talking last night about how tall Brice has gotten.  Just a few months ago he could still walk under the overhang kitchen counter, now he was to go around it! 😦  One reason I started this blog, other than fitness stuff, was to chronicle Brice’s life so I always had something to look back on.  SO this is me taking the first step to get back on track and incorporate some Mommy Stuff around here!

On November 1st, Brice was 2.75 years old which officially makes him closer to three than it does 2 1/2.  Whenever people ask how old he is I never know how to respond.  I could just say two and end it there but there is SUCH a difference between a kid who just turned two and one who is pushing three.  For a while I would say 2 1/2 but now I should probably start saying almost three… and that makes me sad!!  Brice is such a trip.  He’s funny but frustrating, so smart yet so stubborn, and he has such a big heart!

At 2.75 years he weighs 31 pounds and is about 3 ft 2 inches tall. He can still fit into 18-24 month shorts!

He loves his baby brother, race cars, animals (especially dinosaurs), singing songs, wrestling, riding his bicycle, and playing with his friends.

His favorite foods are: cereal, yogurt, chicken nuggets, broccoli, pizza (with pretty much everything peeled off…so bread), quesadillas, ANY kind of fruit, Goldfish, and ‘nummy milk’ <– unsweetened almond milk with a splash of either chocolate almond milk or our coffee creamer.

He says the FUNNIEST things, which probably aren’t hilarious to everyone else but they keep us laughing.  Parents- if you don’t have the app Little Hoots go download it NOW!  It’s the perfect way to quickly document things your kids say so you won’t forget those cute moments.

On November 4th, Brett was 4 months old!!  It’s so hard to explain this but all at once the past four months have felt short and long.  They’ve flown by because it doesn’t feel like just 4 months ago we were at the hospital about to welcome Brett to this world.  They feel really long because it’s as if he has always been a part of our little family.  He is such a smiley and happy baby boy that brings so much joy to our lives!

At his 4 month check up he weight 14 pounds 9 ounces and was 26 inches long.  That puts him in the 27th percentile for weight and 78th percentile for height.  In the looks department he takes after his Mama 🙂 He loves tummy time, and is easily rolling over from stomach to back.  He likes to sit up and look around at the world.  Loves going outside.  Especially likes to be held and talked to. From months 2-3 he slept all night long, but we’ve had some regression lately.  He prefers to sleep on his tummy but sometimes rolls over in the middle of the night and gets frustrated because he hasn’t quite figured out how to roll from his back to his tummy.  He LOVES to eat his hands and constantly has them in his mouth.

These two boys are such a blessing to us and I can’t wait to continue to watch them grow!  I know they are going to be the best of friends, and probably will cause me a lot of trouble once they are both on the move!!

  1. Brett is so freaking adorable. I love how much he is basically a bald Bryce. And omg I just about died with Bryce’s Halloween pictures. Seriously, I think of him as my little bro and show him off to my husband (don’t worry, I don’t show him off to random people). I am so happy that you have such an incredible family–you are an amazing woman and a fantastic mother!
