Going for it

I’m going to put it all out there right now. I’m racing in a 5k this morning and I want to run it under 24 minutes. That gives me butterflies just typing it!! I NEVER say what my goal is for a race beforehand because then I put a lot if pressure on myself. This time us different, I’ve trained for this race and know I can do it!! The race I’m running is the Valdosta 5k which is held every year on the 4th of July.

Happy Birthday America, this race is for you! This year is a new course, and I’ve never run this exact course so I’m pretty excited!! I’ve even got my personal pacer on hand for this race. He’s under strict instructions to not verbally motivate me during the race. He’s supposed to just run and let me try and keep up. I’ve made a playlist that will hopefully push me through and keep my legs moving fast.

The weather looks like it’s going to cooperate and be in the high 70s with the humidity around 70%. Not ideal, but good for this time of year. I’ve been making sure I’m super hydrated to make up for the insane amounts I know I’ll be sweating! And of course I’ll be sporting my red, white, and blue!!

Yes, I could have asked someone to take a picture but it was too early for my face to be ready for that. Happy 4th of July everyone!!! Have a good and SAFE weekend!!

Who is racing this weekend??
What are your holiday weekend plans?
